It's senior season and we all need help when it comes to party planning. Especially when it comes to fun, creative ways to display all our kids memories that we have captured in photos.
As a mom I have thrown a few grad parties of my own and attended a handful or more of other amazing kids. As a photographer who enjoys all my senior session clients and their parents I love to share ideas when it comes to displaying their senior’s photos at their graduation party. This isn’t just a party about
one year—it’s to celebrate all your senior has accomplished, from preschool graduation, new teachers in a new school, trying new sports in middle school and all the great memories they make with great friends in the four years of high school! Here are some unique and creative ways to feature the candid, the yearly school pictures, the selfies and the senior portraits that will tell the story of your senior.
1. Go Big with Poster-Size Prints
Let your senior be the main event—literally, it is their day! Poster-sized prints of your favorite portraits are a way to make a bold statement. Try displaying a black-and-white baby picture and senior picture an easels at the party entrance.
How about a life-size vertical portrait next to the sweet treats table!
These oversized prints not only grab attention but also double as incredible keepsakes after the party.
2. DIY Photo Boards & Pallets with Personality
Boards and pallets are a timeless option, but there are so many ways to make them personal and fun:
Rustic Wood Pallet Wall: Hang prints from twinkle lights using mini clothespins for a charming look or how about hanging up uniforms or awards alongside the pictures for the accomplished athlete.
Cork Board Display: Pin photos in a timeline from kindergarten to senior year, add some fun facts for your guests to learn things they didn't know about your kiddo.
Grid Gallery Wall: Use square prints in a perfect grid on a large poster board or foam core for a clean modern look.
Themed Boards: Last year my senior made separate boards for sports, dances, friends, family. This gave guest the opportunity to see all different sides of my senior.
3. Make Your Photos Part of the Decor
Incorporating images into your party decor makes the whole space feel personal
Table Photo Runners: Print mini photo strips or 4x6s and arrange them as a “runner” down the middle of the table.
Mason Jar Memories: Fill mason jars with photo strips and fairy lights or vases with flowers and add in skewers with 2 prints glued to the top (I have also done this).
Polaroid Trees: Clip instant printed photos to branches in a vase or painted tree limb for a whimsical display.

4. Don’t Forget the Digital Display
It's fun to include a digital photo video of snapshots through the years. Set it up on a screen, add some music and watch the smiles of family and friends!
Displaying your senior’s photos creatively isn’t just about showing off. It’s about telling their story, showing their growth, and sharing who they are with all the people who’ve cheered them on.
